The Hope Home

Our First Home Nearing Completion

Hope Home is our first residence being prepared for a participating family and is currently approximately 70% complete. This one-bedroom home is designed for a smaller household and will provide a stable place to begin rebuilding after loss.

Hope Is Taking Shape

Inside Hope Home, the transformation is already underway. Walls have been repaired and painted, spaces are being restored, and each completed step brings us closer to welcoming our first family. There is still work to be done, but the vision is becoming a reality.

Reconfigured for Privacy & Function

The original layout required residents to walk through the bedroom to reach the kitchen and bathroom. During renovation, the layout was reconfigured to create a dedicated hallway, providing direct access to these spaces while giving the bedroom greater privacy and making the home more functional for a family.

What About Us is building more than individual housing units. We already have a concentrated group of residential properties and vacant land within the same Pine Bluff neighborhood, creating the foundation for a connected community where families rebuilding after loss can access supportive housing and resources close to one another.

Several residences already stand within this property footprint, along with vacant land that provides room for future growth. Our immediate focus is rehabilitating the existing homes and preparing them for program use.

These properties are not simply part of a future plan. The homes and land already exist. As funding, materials, labor, and community partnerships become available, our goal is to restore these spaces one project at a time and bring additional housing into service for participating families.

The Faith Home

This duplex features two 3-bedroom, 1-bath units and is one of several properties awaiting rehabilitation as we work to restore existing housing for participating families.

Rebuilding One Home at a Time

Our immediate focus is rehabilitation. Each vacant property represents an opportunity to transform an existing structure into a safe, stable home for a surviving parent and their children. As funding, materials, and community partnerships become available, we will restore these homes one at a time and bring them into service for participating families.

NEXT PRIORITY

Community Resource Center

Located on the same block as our housing, the Community Resource Center will serve as the central hub for participating families—bringing resources, support, and community-based services within reach.

Creating the Support System Behind the Housing

As Hope Home moves closer to completion, our next major priority is transforming this property into the central resource center for What About Us. This space will support the work that happens beyond housing—providing a dedicated location for participant intake, private family support, program administration, essential resources, and coordinated services.

Designed Around the Families We Serve

The planned layout brings private intake and family-support space, program administration, donated family essentials, resource storage, and staff support areas together under one roof. The Family Resource Closet will provide private access to essential items for program participants and will not operate as a public retail store.
